Parducci Society is excited to offer a rare opportunity to visit the studio of Roman Stone Works.
Roman Stone Works is a custom masonry company based in Detroit. Their masonry artists take slabs of natural quarried Indiana limestone and saw, carve and shape them into decorative elements for residential, institutional and commercial buildings. Custom masonry projects include window and door surrounds, fireplace surrounds, solid-turned limestone columns, and balustrades. Most of their stone ends up on houses in southeastern Michigan, but they have fulfilled orders for projects in New York, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, and Ontario. Roman Stone Works has also completed stone restoration on buildings in Detroit, such as the Fort Shelby Hotel and the Briggs Haus Apartments. Their warehouse is located in northwest Detroit in a beautiful 1935 building that originally operated as a steel slitting mill.
